To be an effective partner, we need to know you and your goals. It all starts with a conversation — about you, your family, your future and your goals in life.

The best way to get started is to simply phone us at 316.264.5444 or email us at office@kirbyyager.com. We'll get together for a face-to-face chat or Zoom to get to know each other better.

At our initial consultation we'll discuss your financial goals and any concerns you may have regarding your plan and benefits. We will work closely with you to understand your current situation, show you how to set realistic goals and then work out the steps you need to take to help achieve them.

There is no commitment on your part to proceed any further.

Initial Consultation

  • Building a relationship of trust with us is key to helping you pursue your financial goals and dreams.
  • Be prepared for your first meeting — and ask lots of questions.
  • Expect a candid, casual conversation in your initial meeting — it's important to take the time to get to know each other.

Preparing for Your First Meeting.

We want to know you as a person — not just as a client.

Your first meeting with us marks the beginning of an important professional relationship. Just as you trust your doctor with your health and your mechanic with your car, you'll be entrusting your us with something of great value too — your financial goals and dreams.

Meeting with us for the first time, you can expect a friendly, casual conversation — we are just getting to know each other. There's no obligation, no pressure, no judgment — and no fee for meeting. You should be candid about your level of investing experience, overall financial situation, and financial goals. You should also feel comfortable to ask as many questions as you'd like.

To prepare, you'll need to think about what you want to achieve, such as your short-term and long-term goals, the kind of lifestyle you want now and in the future, and what you want to change.

Please note that we will have a deep respect for your privacy and personal information and honor your confidentiality. Personal information can be shared whenever you feel you are ready.

Getting Ready.

Questions to think about before the meeting.

If you haven't already, think about the priorities you have for your financial future. Come prepared to answer these questions:

  • What worries you when you think about finances?
  • Was there a recent event that caused you to consider seeking advice?
  • Are you saving for a child's or grandchild's education?
  • Are you getting the personal attention you need from your advisor?
  • Are you considering purchasing a new home?
  • Are there any possible health or external issues that may impact your finances?
  • What would you like to do when you retire?
  • How can you plan now to ensure your legacy is the one you envision?

It is a good idea to make up a list that contains the financial goals that you wish to have — just so you don’t forget anything during your meeting.
